DIY -Hairpin leg cable reel table

Garden.jpg

Hi guys I got a 5 min DIYfor you - add hairpin legs to just about anything -
I used a part from a cable reel to create this garden coffee table , but as with any diy -sky is the limit .
There is a reason as to why i changed the way my garden looks - if you followme on my instagram you be aware that i had pretty nifty pair of dark grey chairs - well thanks to my neighbor braking one - i had to replace them with white versions therefore adjusting slightly how our relaxing spot looks like
I got legs from a company called frammelframe - they made furniture legs and furniture to your own requirements (and are budget friendly ) SO ok let's start

All you need is

  • Legs - i picked 4 hairpin in a length of 45cm(so when i get bored i could re use them for making a bench )
  • Table top - it could be anything from cable reel to a slab of wood
  • Drill (i am using a Hitachi from ffx tools )
  • screws - ikea standard ;)

First place your legs on its desired position - make sure you are happy with the spacing

Pick a screws that are long enough but not too long so they wont come through the other end and screw them in one by one

Now to preserve your table - you can do two things
1 - sand it down , stain it or varnish it (2 thin coats )
2 - preserve its natural patina by adding just 2 thin coats of vanish
Allow it to dry and harden before placing anything on top ;)
