DIY CONVEX MIRROR ON A BUDGET

DIY CONVEX MIRROR ON A BUDGET

Lets be honest here , convex mirrors can be pricey , and when you cant find one second hand cheaply you got to improvise - This mirror was unplanned and this is why its in the garden ;) , but i wanted to check how good or bad a plastic traffic/ driveway mirror will look like - and for under £20 for a 60 cm one and £24 for 80 cm - thanks to good old ebay i wasn’t disappointed
This DIY or an up-cycle if you wish will only take 5 minutes - so lets roll

To create your convex indoor or outdoor mirror - depending on Finnish you will need
a mirror - mine i got on ebay for £17.99 and this one is 60 cm diameter - it looks blurry as it still got the protection foil on - this mirror is acrylic but once film removed it looks great
spray paint - i chose black rustoleum all surface paint , but you can pick any color like gold and finish with gilding wax like rub and buff

HOW TO :
spray your mirror frame and allow the paint to dry then began removing the protective film - my fingers are black as i managed to paint myself in the process ;)

As you see after foil is removed mirror is looking great ! - it is a bit bendable , but once on the wall you wont be able to tell a difference
This mirror on the back comes with some sort of “arm “ bracket - you can hang in 2 different ways
one you can unscrew the whole bracket then attach a picture hanging bracket ( cheap on ebay) or re use existing one by unscrewing them to remove the top part of the bracket and screwing it back on - and this is it ladies and gents - budget mirror ;)
